alli Diet Pills Have Officially Arrived in the UK
After much anticipation, alli diet pills are now available, without prescription, to buy in the UK. Boots market alli as a “new weight loss aid” but alli has actually been available to buy over the counter in the US since July 2007. It is only recently that alli has passed licensing rules in Europe and it is now available across the counter in major chemist stores.
How Does alli Work?
alli is a fat binder that helps you to lose weight by blocking up to 25% of your fat intake from being digested. This helps to reduce your overall calorie intake.
alli contains the anti-obesity drug Orlistat which is used in the prescription-only diet pill Xenical. Orlistat is a strong medical drug and the reason why alli is available over the counter, without prescription - unlike Xenical - is because alli contains half the amount of Orlistat to Xenical.
Side-effects
At first glance, alli sounds like a great diet pill - it is FDA approved in the US, approved by licensing rules in Europe, it blocks a quarter of fat intake and it is available without prescription.
However, when you read testimonials from users in the US, this pretty picture of alli is somewhat tainted. Dieters have reported that an orange liquid is frequently dispelled, quite often without warning. After researching into alli and Orlistat I have found out that this “orange liquid” is the undigested fats passing out of the body.
Other negative aspects include:
- It is a chemically produced drug, not a natural herbal product
- It is expensive - a two week supply from Boots costs £32.95
- Can cause many embarrassing side-effects including flatulence (wind), frequent and urgent bowel movements and runny orange stools
 alli Conclusion
Unfortunately, alli’s embarrassing side-effects really let it down. If it did not have such unpleasant side-effects then I would highly recommend alli. I have no doubt that alli will be a popular diet pill in the short term because it is produced by a pharmaceutical company, GlaxoSmithKline, which has a large marketing budget and it able to put alli in the public eye.
Where To Buy alli
If you are not put off by the side-effects and you still want to try alli, then you can buy a two week supply from Boots for £32.95 and a month’s supply for £49.95.Â

Natural Alternatives To alli
Proactol is a great natural alternative to alli as it works in the same way but provides more benefits - its blocks a higher percentage of fats from being absorbed, it also acts as an appetite suppressant, it lowers blood cholesterol and more importantly it DOES NOT have any known side-effects. This is because Proactol is 100% natural herbal based diet pill.
