Aged just 17, Malissa Jones from North Yorkshire, weighed 34 stone (476 lb) when she became the youngest Brit to receive a gastric bypass in 2007.

Two year later, and Malissa has revealed she is depressed and wishes she never had the operation.

‘I know it sounds ungrateful, but I preferred my body when I was fat,’ the 19-year-old told Closer Magazine this week.

‘At least it was firm and curvy, not droopy and saggy. I had nice firm arms - now the skin just hangs and I have to cover them up because they look so awful.’

At 17 Malissa was a size 30 dress Size, but is now a shapely size 16. She is forced, however, to hide her new body under long tops and trousers to shield the folds of excess skin.

The NHS won’t remove the skin and I’ll never manage to save £20,000 to have it done privately,’ she explained.

‘The surgery might have saved my life, but I wish I’d never had it done.’

As a child Malissa had always been overweight and as a teenager she become morbidly obese.

Frighteningly she suffered a suspected heart attack, aged just 15! Her daily diet saw her consume 15,000 calories a day, with a day’s food consisting of 8 mars bars, 10 packets of crisps, 4 sandwiches and takeaways.

Malissa went under the knife after doctors said her weight was crushing her internal organs.

The bypass was a resounding success and she lost two stone per month. As a result of the weight loss, however, she developed excess skin and came to resent her new body far more than her old one.

‘I feel so upset,’ she said.

‘I hoped being slimmer would mean I could wear a bikini and go swimming, but I’m too ashamed of my body.

‘The thought of living with a body like this for the rest of my life is just devastating.’

I hope people read this and realise gastric surgery isn’t a miracle cure.

‘I wish I’d lost the weight through exercise and healthy eating. I know this operation was life saving, but the complications I’m suffering now might still kill me. The truth is I feel I’m no better off than I was before.’

Surgery to induce weight loss should always be an absolute last resort, and as Malissa’s story shows even if weight loss occurs, the results can be unsatisfactory.

The safest and most effective ways to lose weight are through diet and exercise.

To boost the results and increase motivation there are numerous natural and organic products that can aid and encourage safe and long term weight loss.

The acai berry has received worldwide notoriety for its nutritional values. This small purple fruit has been proven to be a powerful and effective fat burner that boosts metabolism and energy levels.

Most acai berry supplements only contain acai berry extract and therefore will merely provide short-term assistance with your weight loss goals….

As well as acai berry, these diet pills also contains green tea, a well-known fat burner and weight loss supplement.

It also contains other weight loss ingredients that can help regulate blood sugar levels that encourage your body to shed unwanted pounds.

Surely it’s too good to be true? A chocolate that helps you lose weight! Apparently not, according to the makers of a new chocolate bar in Spain, reports Dietpillsthatwork.co.uk

According to the makers, this is exactly what a new brand of chocolate promises to do. Named Lola, the chocolate contains chemicals that fool your brain into making you believe you are not hungry and acts as an appetite suppressant.

Lola’s creators say it tastes like normal chocolate, although it will have a slight green tinge due to the unusual additional ingredients.

They won’t break the bank at £5 for a box of five, although they are somewhat more expensive then your kit kats, crunchies and mars bars.

The sweets are designed by Spanish manufacturer Cocoa Bia and were exhibited for the first time at an International confectionary show in Madrid last weekend.

One of Lola’s inventors, Armando Yanez said: ‘People should eat one or two chocolates around one hour before a meal.

‘They’ll feel pleasantly full and less like eating to excess. The chocolate has an intense flavour and extremely high antioxidant properties.’

The boffins behind the chocolate also claim that amino acids within the product stimulate the production of a hormone in the brain that suppresses the appetite.

Sadly, the sweets will only be sold in Spain initially, but may appear in the UK if there is interest.

This isn’t the first time that the potential health benefits from regularly consuming chocolate have been revealed.

In August, a report in the Journal of International Medicine found that heart attack survivors who consumed chocolate regularly are almost 70% less likely to die from cardiac complications than those who rarely eat it.

The only downside to the new chocolate is that it does also contain Aspartame, a substance that has not been properly tested or trialed and has been known to cause health problems for some consumers.

If you would prefer a 100% natural appetite suppressant than we would recommend Unique Hoodia.

Almost 2 out of 3 women in the UK believe they would have better luck in love if they were to lose weight according to a study by weight loss experts Proactol, reports dietpillsthatwork.co.uk

In addition, one in three admitted that they would dump their current partners and trade them in for newer and improved models if they slimmed down!

Most desirable celebrity trade ins included Brad Pitt, George Clooney and all members of Take That.

The Poll of women aged 18 to 50 was carried out on behalf of one of the UK’s most popular weight loss products, Proactol with full results published on their website Proactol.co.uk

The poll revealed that a staggering 65% of women believe they would be luckier in love if they were slimmer. And 33% of those questioned admitted they would have no qualms dumping their husband or boyfriend if they did posses their dream bodies and run off with someone more attractive.

When asked who they would choose to run away with the women named celebrities from film, TV and music with Robert Patterson, star of the Twilight movies, featuring in the wish list of the younger ladies while actors George Clooney and Brad Pit were most popular with those over 25.

Proactol product manager Katie Downing-Howitt said: “We all know women who complain about their weight and try to diet and our survey shows this is completely normal with a majority of women feeling this way at any time.”Very close to two thirds of those we surveyed feel they are over weight and almost one fifth feel they are very overweight.

“I was more surprised by how many women admitted they would leave their partners for someone more attractive if they did manage to lose their excess weight. The survey shows that almost one third of women are only with their partners because they feel they couldn’t do any better.

“But if they could lose weight women clearly feel they would be more confident and more attractive – so look out lads.

Our product Proactol is an organic fat binder, which helps dieters to reduce their calorie intake. With more and more women finding it is possible to reach their target weight with the help of Proactol, men could increasingly find themselves back on the shelf in the months and years ahead.”

She added that Proactol were seeking case studies of couples that had fallen out of love after weight loss. If you dumped your partner after losing weight please contact the Proactol team through their website Proactol.co.uk

A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips so the saying goes, but burgers, ice cream and chocolate actually go to your head first according to a new study, reports dietpillsthatwork.co.uk

New research has shown that the bad fats found in dairy products, hamburgers and milk shakes quickly make their way to the brain where they turn off the alarm system that tells us when we’ve had enough to eat. The result is that our hunger is not satisfied and therefore we continue to eat more.

Worryingly researchers believe that this effect is so powerful that a cheeseburger eaten on Friday could be responsible for hunger pains three days later!

Dr Deborah Clegg who conducted the investigation said “Normally, our body is primed to say when we’ve had enough, but that doesn’t always happen when we’re eating something good. What we’ve shown in this study is that someone’s entire brain chemistry can change in a very short period of time. Since you’re not being told by the brain to stop eating, you overeat.”

Scientists carried out the study on mice and rats and found that the effect lasted for three days. This means that unhealthy and fatty foods can increase appetite and calorie intake for days after you eat them.

The study was published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation; Scientists said that a particular type of fat called palmitic acid is especially good at tricking the brain.

This type of fat is a common saturated fat found in popular everyday items such as butter, cheese, milk and beef. In better news the fats found in olive oil were given a clean bill of health.

Researchers now plan to investigate how long it takes the body’s appetite to return to normal.

Genetics also play a part in our appetite for fatty, sugary foods. Almost two-thirds of people in the UK carry ‘junk food genes’ that causes them to yearn for fatty and sugary foods previous studies have shown.

The UK leads the way as the biggest consumers of junk food, even beating people from the United States.

Antioxidant compounds found in green tea could help promote weight loss according to a recently published study by the American Society of Nutrition, reports dietpillsthatwork.co.uk

Green tea is a rich source of catechins that are believed to play a beneficial role in reducing the risk of numerous diseases such as Alzheimer’s, certain cancers, and cardiovascular and oral health.

Previous investigations have shown that tea catechins may also promote weight loss. The latest research, published in ‘The Journal of Nutrition’, found that consuming a beverage containing green tea catechins could enhance exercise-induced loss of abdominal fat whilst also improving triglycide levels.

Scientists used 100 participants between the ages of 21 and 65 for the study. Male subjects, who made up half of the group, had an average waist circumference of over 90cm, whilst female subjects had a waist circumference of over 87cm.

Those taking part were at random assigned to receive either 500ml per day of a beverage providing 625mg catechins or a control beverage containing added caffeine to match the caffeine content of the catechin beverage.

The volunteers consumed one serving of their assigned beverage per day, at any time of the day, and with or without food. They continued their usual energy intake, and three-day diet records were taken at baseline, six and 12 weeks.

The subjects committed to 180 minutes of “moderate-intensity” physical activity per week, and to attend at lease three supervised exercise sessions per week.

Results

At the studies conclusion, subjects who had consumed catechins were found to have lost more body weight in comparison to the control group. Both total abdominal fat area and abdominal subcutaneous fat area had decreased more in the catechin group.

One of the studies authors, Matthew S Reeves, commented on the results, “The findings of this study suggest that consumption of a beverage containing green tea catechins (625mg/d) may enhance exercise-induced loss of abdominal fat and improve circulating FFA and TG levels”.

With green tea having been shown to work as an effective weight loss supplement, our experts at dietpillsthatwork.co.uk would recommend Maximuscle Thermobol as an effective diet pill.

New research recently published in the research journal OBESITY has proven for the first time that a natural plant extract, yerba maté, has potent anti-obesity effects reports dietpillsthatwork.co.uk

The research examined the effect of extracts of yerba mate; a plant indigenous to South America, on obese mice fed on high fat diets and concluded that the yerba maté extracts had potent anti-obesity activity.

The research demonstrated that in adipose tissue in obese mice given the extracts, the expression of several genes related to obesity returned to normal levels. Additionally high blood cholesterol and glucose levels in the extract treated mice were reduced.

This suggests the compounds found in yerba maté extract may act synergistically to suppress body weight gain, visceral fat accumulation, and decrease the serum levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, cholesterol and glucose.

Professor Anthony Leeds, a leading obesity researcher of the University of Copenhagen said ‘the recent research clearly shows that compounds occurring in yerba maté extract (Ilex paraguarensis) attenuated weight gain in mice on a high fat diet and improved abnormal blood lipid profiles.

“Yerba maté treatment acted on adipose tissue to down-regulate several genes (including leptin the ‘eating hormone’, and cytokines) and upregulated those for adiponectin and thermogenesis, giving clues as to the mechanism for the weight loss”

Yerba maté extract is the main ingredient in natural slimming product Zotrim where it is complemented by extracts from guarana and damiana, two other South American plants.

This synergistic combination of natural plant extracts already has a well-established effect on weight loss in humans. Zotrim has undergone five rigorous, independent investigations.

On average people taking Zotrim lost 5.1kg (11.2lbs) compared to just 0.3kg (0.7lbs) with the placebo. It helps users to eat less through increasing satiety, the feeling of fullness.

There are over 4000 diet pills available that claim to offer you hope in achieving your desired weight loss, but there also certain foods you can eat to help improve your chances too!

New research shows a number of foods – from beans to beef – that can help you fight hunger, boost metabolism and ultimately, shed those extra pounds reports dietpillsthatwork.co.uk

Here’s the list in full

1. Eggs - Eggs are packed full of protein and help you feel fuller longer. They also prevent spikes in blood sugar, which can lead to food cravings.

2. Beans - Get back on the green diet. Eating beans increases Cholecystokinin, a digestive hormone and a natural appetite suppressant. There’s also evidence that beans keep blood sugar in check, so you can stay away from the hunger pangs longer.

3. Salad - Control your calorie intake by starting with a large salad. A large serving of salad can keep you full and contains high levels of vitamins C and E, folic acid, lycopene, and carotenoids.

4. Soup - A cup of chicken soup is as good as eating a piece of chicken. Even the simplest soup satisfies hunger pangs because your brain perceives it as filling.

5. Pears - These contain pectin fiber that decreases blood-sugar levels, helping you avoid snacking in between meals.

6. Green tea - Antioxidants called catechins are what help speed metabolism and fat burning. Green tea also boosts the metabolism and lowers bad LDL cholesterol.

7. Lean beef - Who says you got to keep totally off meat if you’re trying to shed weight? The amino acid leucine, which is abundant in meat and fish as well as in dairy products, can help you reduce while maintaining calorie-burning muscle.

8. Olive oil - Fight off that middle-age bulge with extra virgin olive oil. A monounsaturated fat, it’ll help you burn calories.

9. Cinnamon - Sprinkle it on oatmeal or whole-grain toast to help cure those mid-afternoon sugar slumps. Research has found that a little cinnamon can help control post-meal insulin spikes, which make you feel hungry.

10. Nuts - Yes, nuts are fattening but research shows that people who snack on nuts tend to be slimmer than those who don’t. They help by revving up the metabolism. Plus certain nuts like walnuts contain omega-3 fatty acids that are essential for you.

Being obese doesn’t just place your major internal organs at risk, nor does it double or even triple your risks on contracting serious illnesses like diabetes and cancers, but according to a recent study that was conducted by Boston University, obesity can play culprit to arthritis and osteoporosis, in a shockingly short period of time, reports dietpillsthatwork.co.uk.

As this recent obesity impact study circulates, customers are flocking to the number one diet pill in the world, Proactol - which offers a proven, side effect-free and natural approach to facilitating healthy weight-loss. Newer studies from Boston University on the impact of obesity as it affects osteoporosis and arthritis are rather startling.

The study included more than 300 different knees that were studied on more than 300 different patients, all who had a body mass index (BMI) of more than 29.5 (which is considered to be obesity). At the onset of the study the knees appeared to be mostly healthy. However, after following test subjects for a period of thirty months, about 20% of subjects displayed slowed cartilage losses, and nearly 6% demonstrated rapid cartilage losses.

Frank Roemer, a respected professor and the lead author on the study at Boston University - in a July news release from BU - warns about the negative effects that obesity can have on cartilages in the body. ”As obesity is one of the few established risk factors for osteoarthritis, it is not surprising that obesity may also precede and predict rapid cartilage loss. Weight loss is probably the most important factor to slow disease progression,” Roemer says.

With thousands of weight loss products available to consumers it’s difficult to know which diet pills are the most effective at helping achieve your weight loss goals.

At dietpillsthatwork.co.uk we are committed to giving you the consumer the best advice so you can find the number 1 diet pill for you.

It is always hard to find a diet pill that works but we can assure you that the weight loss supplement Proactol is one of the most popular and successful on the market as we speak.
There are basically three types of diet supplements currently available. Fat burners, appetite suppressants and fat binders. Fat burners are least preferred nowadays due to ineffectiveness and dangerous side effects. Though some appetite suppressing diet pills can help reduce food intake, they may disturb your body’s metabolism resulting in immediate weight gain after discontinuation of pills.
Natural fat binder supplements are becoming more and more popular as they contribute to safe weight loss by preventing fat absorption. Fat binders are not meant for super fast weight loss, but they can aid steady weight loss without disturbing metabolism mechanism and they don’t have any harmful side effects.

Proactol is considered as the best fat binder on the market with its excellent consumer feedback, strong clinical backing, herbal ingredients and six-month money back guarantee. Described by the UK’s Daily Mail as ‘key in the fight against obesity’, Proactol has also featured in ‘The New York Times’, ‘Florida Style Magazine’ and most recently in Britain’s most read newspaper ‘The Sun’.

Proactol has been clinically proven in 4 separate studies to aid weight loss and is held in high regard by eminent weight loss experts. The CE Marking on Proactol denotes that Proactol has met the stringent safety requirements of the European Medical Devices Directive and thus “consumers can be assured of the use of Proactol”.

Proactol has been registered with the USA’s FDA as a dietary supplement with a list of certified structure and function claims. These include that Proactol is a clinically tested fat binder that “helps reduce appetite and if used correctly will help achieve your weight loss goals”

As our name suggests we only endorse diet pills that work and it is our belief that Proactol is one of the most effective weight loss supplements currently available to consumers. If you are serious about achieving your weight loss targets, take control by taking Proactol today.
