Sibutramine
Sibutramine is a pharmaceutically produced medical drug used for the treatment of obesity. It is not natural or herbal but is made up of pharmaceutically produced chemicals. Â It works as an appetite suppressant and has been marketed under the brand name Reductil in Europe and Meridia in the US and Canada, by the pharmaceutical company Abbot Laboratories. It can only be obtained from your GP because it is a powerful drug that must only be taken under medical supervision. In the US it is classed as a controlled substance.
How It Works
Sibutramine is a neurotransmitter reuptake inhibitor that reduces the reuptake of serotonin by 53%. Studies show that the reduced reuptake of serotonin can reduce appetite. The FDA approved the use of Sibutramine as a treatment drug for obesity in 1997.

- constipation
- trouble sleeping
- dizziness
- drowsiness
- menstrual cramps/pain
- Headache
- Flushing
